let’s see… i lost a client within the first two or three weeks i started but it wasn’t entirely my fault (more of the groomers but hey she makes up her own schedule). my BIGGEST and WORST mistake was giving a client the WRONG ashes of a pet… FORTUNATELY they were able to bring the ashes back and gave them to the right client. i felt HORRIBLE. It’s just the writing was in fancy cursive and i just glanced at the name on the envelope and for some reason looked like the clients name but wasn’t. i mean the day i got there and saw my heart felt like it stopped and the blood drain from my face. just couldn’t believe i had did that. when i was on my own for the second month i was there, one of the vets told me i said “i don’t know” too much to clients questions. even though i was sure i would say let me go get a tech and the clients were oh never mind that’s ok. i mean they were questions for a tech to answer anyway.. recently i told a client the wrong time to get a puppy vaccine. it was actually too early to get it. i could have sworn she said the puppy received the shot about two weeks ago so i told her she could come in to get the second vaccine in about a week. apparently i was wrong.. as usual. and i feel like there is more i could be doing other than filing, waiting for the phone to ring, making copies of new client forms or other forms, checking clients in and out. but what else can a receptionist do?
i guess i found two very nice and patient vets to work with. i’m surprised they are putting up with me.
Anyone enrolled in San Juan College in the vet tech course? just wondering how it is. i’ve been reading a lot of comments it’s a really good program.
but i don’t have a PC or microsoft office 2010…
